Both studios close on Fridays through August. Clients hear about it in the spring, and nobody answers email from the beach.

Everyone spends one paid week a year in a workshop of their choosing: a letterpress in Porto, a weaver in Jutland, a sign painter in Alfama.

The people who start a project are the people who finish it. No hand-offs to a production team, and no strangers at the launch.

Anyone can spend a season in the other studio, or move for good. We pay for the flights, help find a flat and cover Danish or Portuguese lessons.

Lead identity projects from the first sketch to the last sign, working with Inês Moura and a team of three. You have at least six years of practice, a sure hand with type and the patience for details that only show up in print. This year’s work includes a small hotel group on the Alentejo coast and a bakery with four shops in Lisbon.

Design signage, wayfinding and interiors for hotels, restaurants and public buildings, from the site survey to installation day. You will work with Mads Kjær and Anders Holm, and spend part of most weeks with carpenters, sign makers and fabricators. English is the studio language, and Danish helps on site.

Build the websites and small shops we design, mostly in Framer and hand-written HTML and CSS. You sit with the designers from the first sketch and settle performance, accessibility and typography with them as you go. Based in either studio, with two days a week at home.

Six paid months from March 2027 in the Lisbon studio, working on identity and print projects alongside Tomás Figueiredo. You will set type, build mock-ups, go on press checks and present your own work to a client before you leave. Open to final-year students and recent graduates.

Send a short portfolio and a note on one project you would do differently now. Two of us read every one within ten working days.

An hour in Lisbon, in Copenhagen or on a call with the people you would work with. We go through two or three projects in detail and answer anything you ask.

A day in the studio on a real brief, paid at our day rate, with lunch at the long table. It shows both sides what working together feels like.

We reply within a week of the trial day, with a written offer or a clear reason why not. Start dates are agreed together.
Send a portfolio, a few lines about yourself and the kind of work you want to do more of. We keep every letter on file and write back when something opens up.
